Delight In the Best of Fall at The Morton Arboretum

It’s time to celebrate the arrival of fall! If you’re in the Woodridge area, you can experience the brilliant colors of the season while participating in a wide range of outdoor activities. Check out these upcoming events at The Morton Arboretum for a great time.

Cider and Ale Festival: October 19th

Support the Arboretum’s mission while kicking back with hard ciders and seasonal beers from local breweries at the Cider and Ale Festival.

If you’re a member of The Morton Arboretum, you only pay $45 for a ticket. Non-members pay $55. Each admission ticket entitles you to 20 3-oz samplings, a souvenir tasting glass, and access to live entertainment.

VIP tickets entitles you to a 16 oz. can-shaped collectible glass, early entry into the festival, and first samplings of special brews. VIP tickets are available to members for $65 and non-members for $75.

Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to┬árelax on the lawn. Don’t forget to bring a designated driver! Check the website for discounted rates for designated drivers.

Walking Plays: October 19th, 20th, 26th, & 27th

Toward the end of the month, enjoy walking plays at the Arboretum! Take a scenic hike while watching a live dramatic performance on the 1,700-acre grounds. Actors will perform a modern take on Sherlock Holmes’ Scandal in Bohemia.

Throughout the play, audience members hike one mile over moderate-level terrain. Performances begin at 3:00 p.m. and tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members. You can purchase your tickets here.

Scarecrow Trail: Daily in October

During the month of October, you won’t want to miss the Scarecrow Trail along the Meadow Lake. Scarecrows built by local scout troops will be on display all along the paved paths. After your walk, be sure to vote for your favorite scarecrow creation! The path is open from 7:00 a.m. to sunset every day.
