Enjoy Unique Beers at Skeleton Key Brewery in Woodridge, Illinois

Whether you’re a happy local living at Retreat at Seven Bridges, new in town, or still deciding where you’ll live, there’s always someone in Woodridge who knows your name — especially at Skeleton Key Brewery.

Knowing the Brewery

Skeleton Key Brewery isn’t solely for beer, although it’s a major reason for its existence. You’ll find camaraderie, unique beers, brewing classes, and a unique incubator program here; unlimited possibilities are why it was named Skeleton Key.

Paul Slayton, John Szopa, and Emily Slayton (a husband, brother, and sister team) combined their efforts to create a brewery with a mission. Home to innovative ideas and creative brews, Skeleton Key Brewery is also a great place to relax.

Visiting Skeleton Key

This casual-style brewery makes for a welcoming experience. You enter through the front room and immediately see board games in session (children and puppies are welcome until 8:00 p.m.), friendly conversation at tables, and busy staff at work. In the back room, you find live music.

Drinks Supplied, Food Deliveries Welcomed

While Skeleton Key offers snacks at the bar, it also welcomes food deliveries from other establishments. For more variety, visit the food truck out front, a popular choice for frequent patrons. Some customers even bring in their own meals from elsewhere.

If you’d like to sample Skeleton Key’s menu, be sure to try the various types of jerky available; patrons say that the raspberry chipotle turkey jerky is a surprisingly good treat. While you’re there, give the artisan cheese boards your attention, as well. You can’t go wrong with any of these snack choices.

Meanwhile, the drinks are all brewed on-site and include a comprehensive selection of lagers, sour beers, ales, and ciders. For example, “The Words That Stay” is a rich ale popular with the locals. You can taste a hint of spiciness mixed with a smooth caramel undertone with this one. If you’d like to try the brewery’s experimental beers, consider joining its Skullmuggery Society. It’s a treat for elite beer connoisseurs.

Skeleton Key is open every day except Mondays. On Fridays and Saturdays, the brewery closes at 11:00 p.m. Want to live where everybody knows your name?
